What is IPv6? – My IP & My IPv6 Explained

IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) is the next-generation IP protocol, designed to overcome IPv4 limitations like address exhaustion. Each device can have a globally unique IPv6 address. You can check my IP or find my IPv6 address to see your current network identity and location.

IPv6 Address Structure

An IPv6 address has eight groups of four hexadecimal digits separated by colons. Leading zeros can be omitted, and consecutive zero blocks can be replaced with ::.

Example:

2604:1380:1234:abcd::1 (Equivalent to 2604:1380:1234:abcd:0000:0000:0000:0001)
